If you’re looking to read the first part of my trip, it’s the post below this one!

Edit: Like my new CSS? :D

The morning after the Night Hike, we had scrambled eggs for breakfast. Yum! Only one thing – I really wanted ketchup. xD Yes, I put ketchup on my scrambled eggs! It’s delicious! Anyway, after breakfast, I had Rowboats – what I was waiting for the entire trip. :D We walked down through the woods and onto the beach where the lake was. Of course, we had to put on life jackets that made us feel fat. xD I got in a boat with Kylie and Julianna. (I barely know either of them – but if you remembered my one post, Kylie’s brother is the one that died.) Kylie said that her grandma had a rowboat and she always rows in it, so we let her row first. She made it look so easy, so halfway into the ride, I tried rowing. I sucked. Bad. So I gave the ores back to Kylie and we rowed around the lake. It was super relaxing, especially when it was quiet and you could hear the water falling down the waterfall that was down the lake. The lake water was somewhat cold – at Water Ecology we took the temperature and it was about 63 degrees. On the boat ride, we also got really close to some turtles. I’d rate that about 9/10.

After Rowboats, I had The Amazing Race. Well, let me tell you something, it wasn’t so amazing. We sat in a field for a little bit going over what we had to do in the race – tie a complicated knot, then build (but not light) a fire, and finally establish a tent. The teacher split my group up into 2 teams, I was lucky to get the green team. xD So we started racing. I did fine with everything, but I really was low on energy because I was hungry, bored, and it was super hot outside. (Okay, it was only 70 degrees, but that’s hot for where I live! xD) The other team won because at the last minute we had some complications setting up the tent. :( I would rate that about 3/10, because I did learn a lot.

Next I had Low Ropes Course I. It was so much fun! We went down into a course in the woods. The first obstacle was getting across a big cargo net that hung from 4 tall trees. We had to get in by being lifted up and then flipping into it, then getting to the other side without touching the ground, and then flip out of the net. I was a little worried about the entrance and exit, but I did fine. I got rope burn on my neck, but it went away quickly. It was actually fun. :D Oh, I can’t forget the highlight of that – some popular girl went into it… and her pants fell down in front of EVERYONE. Funny, funny stuff. The rest of the Low Ropes Course was equally fun. We did stuff like getting across a bunch of tire swings and walking across a wobbly log without falling off. I would definitely rate that 10/10!

After that, I had lunch. Grilled cheese, yummeh! And then, how convenient – I had Low Ropes Course II after lunch! Yay! It was a lot more challenging than the first course. We did a trust-building excercise where we had to walk across the balance beam backwards and with our eyes closed, only trusting the spotters next to us. We also did a “remote island” thing – there were 2 platforms, one was the “remote island” and the other was the platform where the “helicopter would come to rescue you.” There were 13 people in my group and the platform was only like 2 feet by 2 feet! What we had to do was swing on a rope from one platform to another (they were maybe a little more than a yard apart) without touching the ground. We also couldn’t slip off the platform. It was hard, but we made it! :D Something I also enjoyed was where there were 2 poles and a metal pole connecting them. On the metal poll was this life-size spool (you know, like a thread spool?) that we had to hop onto and get across to the other side on. I got a bad scratch on my arm using it, but it was so fun – when you sat on it and it rolled forward you fell so quickly and it felt like Disney’s Tower of Terror. I would also rate that 10/10.

Then we had dinner. Chicken pot pie, yuck. I just ate bread and butter the whole time… :P The dessert that night was delicious, it was Apple Crisp… baked apples with cinnamon & nutmeg oatmeal! I didn’t want to stop eating it. That night was DA BOMB! First we had a hayride. It was sort of a ripoff because my group was the first to go and it was still light outside. Luckily, though, I got to go on it with Mandie and Jasalynn! We were stuffing hay in this kid’s hoodie, ROFL. Then I took a piece of hay and said, “Once upon a time, there was a little hay stick. He hated life and wanted to commit suicide. So he jumped off a building and died.” I put the stick on the edge of the wagon thing and it was super close to blowing off, but at the last second I grabbed it and said, “NEVERMIND! I wanna keep him!” And stuck him in my pocket. You had to be there… xD Next we had folklore. I won’t say what we heard about, that would give away where I live… :P Let’s just say, it was creepy walking back to my cabin that night. xD After that, we roasted marshmallows around the campfire, sang the Spongebob campfire song, and made s’mores. I had a good time! :D Last but not least… the thing we’ve all been waiting for. THE PILLOW FIGHT. Muahahaha! There were a ton of ties, but the score in the end was girls 4 and boys 4. My science teacher was in charge, so he said we’d settle it by seeing if the girls or the boys got an overall better score on the upcoming science test. BOOOO! If you were wondering, yes, I did participate in the pillow fight, and I tied. xP

I’m back from my trip, it was fun!

I was really surprised about my cabin. I got a lot of my friends in it, but I either didn’t know or didn’t like the other 3 or 4 people. xD Every cabin had at least one teacher in them, and of course I got my annoying homeroom teachers and another nice sixth grade teacher. I’ll call them Mrs. Mean, Mrs. Retard, and Mrs. Nice. So first we got in and unpacked our stuff. The cabin was so nice, we lucked out and got the newest one! It had hardwood floors, two giant rooms, a huge and nice bathroom, and a basketball court next door! I have to admit I really liked having the nicest cabin, but it kind of defeated the purpose of a camping trip. Haha.

The first activity I had was Water Ecology. My instructional group (horrible group, I only knew 1 person out of 13) went down to the lake. We first took the temperature of the lake and the air, and then we got buckets, filled them with water, and scooped some of the ugly stuff from the bottom of the lake using nets. xD The job was to put the crap down on the sand and sort through it, trying to find any organisms. Knowing me who is deathly afraid of insects, I mainly just recorded what we found on paper and dumped the water out. We did find a few things, like a baby Swamp Darter, some sort of beetle (it was HUGE, and not to mention disgusting), and a bunch of little water bugs. I would rate that activity 8/10, at some times it was a little boring. xP

Next we ate lunch, but that doesn’t matter, does it? xD After lunch, I had Orienteering. Blech. We basically just learned how to correctly use a compass and direct yourself out of the wilderness if you were lost. After the learning part, the teacher told us coordinates and we’d have to walk in that direction and find a little container that had a question about compasses inside. After the first couple finds, it got dumb, because all the people who wanted to answer the questions would just run off in the direction before anyone else and look. I would rate that 3/10, it was mostly boring. xD

Then we had Wilderness Survival. It wasn’t as cool as I expected, but I guess it was okay. We first went into a room and looked at pictures from past trips and the shelters they made at this center. Once we were ready to try it on our own, we headed down into the woods (long hike) and into a small area where we were supposed to build our shelter. After about 10 minutes, we completed it. It was almost exactly like this, but bigger and leaning on a tree. Of course we all piled into it and surprisingly we fit! I would rate that about 8/10.

Then we had dinner. The camp’s food was surprisingly really good, except the second day there were substitute chefs and everything was a bit uncooked. After dinner, we all went into “Hulitt Hall” (a little auditorium place) for a Reptiles & Amphibians Show. Some guy with a lazy eye was talking about frogs and snakes of the forest, but I barely listened because I was too busy making funny noises with Jasalynn and Mandie to hear anything. Although, once he turned on the TV and we got to hear frog noises, EVERYONE was laughing, so it was all good. xD One frog sounded like a banjo, one sounded like a fart, and one sounded like a woman screaming! I honestly never knew that frogs made such weird sounds. After that, he passed around animal skulls and dead animals in boxes. O_o There was a horse skull that was two times the size of my head, a cow skull almost the same size, and skulls of cats, dogs, foxes, and raccoons and such. I was creeped out by that, but then he started passing around the dead animals in cases! There was a snake that was perfectly preserved from the 1800′s, a case with five bats in size order, and a rat the size of my forearm. :o I didn’t even go near most of them, even though they were sealed tight.

After that, we went on a “Night Hike.” I was looking forward to it! It was about 10 when we started the walk. We went as an entire grade, so we couldn’t possibly get separated unless you purposely walked off into a different direction. xD It was pitch black outside, so the only light was these jerks that brought their cameras. Most of them ran out of film, but someone figured out a way to get a flash without even taking pictures. Thanks a lot, person! After 20 minutes of walking in a linked-arm-line with Kelcie, Kelsey, Mandie, Jasalynn, and Madison, we all kind of separated and it was only me, Jasalynn, and Mandie left. Of course it wasn’t long before clumsy Jasalynn fell (I later began counting and she set a record of 17 falls the whole trip) and hit her head on the ground. She was dizzy and hallucinating the rest of the night. Needless to say, I had to lead her everywhere. We ended up getting potentially lost, and by lost I mean the entire group. The walk ended up being an hour and a half and not the planned 40 minutes we expected!

Hello long lost viewers!

Jeeze, I really should get into the habit of posting at least 2 times a week. It really bothers me that I have people waiting for a post, but I really haven’t had a good enough topic to post about lately! Sorry!

Everything has been going pretty normal lately. Today, I had a band trip to my elementary school. We played a few songs for the PTA and the chorus sang. I guess it went pretty good, but the best part was seeing the school again! I remembered those green chainlink gates that you had to get on and off your bus at, the hallway we walked through, and of course the auditorium where we performed. It brought back so many memories that I don’t know whether to classify as good or bad. xD

Speaking of school, I’m really nervous for next year. I have lots of online friends that are in middle and high school, and it seems easy-peasy for them. But the way my teachers put it, seventh grade has much higher expectations, tons more homework, and lots of activites and classes to choose from. It’s pretty overwhelming to me. Of course I’m doing band next year, but that means I’m not doing cycles (which I don’t mind). There are a few clubs you can join (I’m leaning towards the Italian Club for obvious reasons xD) and the only sports the school has to offer are field hockey (lacrosse) and basketball. I did basketball this year (the season’s over now) and I’ve been playing for four years I’m pretty sure. It was never my favorite sport, in fact sometimes it was the last thing I ever wanted to do. xP But I’m extremely lazy, I’ll admit it, so I think I’ll have to play it. lol

In social studies today, me and Jasalynn were basically fooling around the entire time. I can’t even count the number of times the teacher told us to stop. We were both really tired and thought everything was hilarious, so I flipped to the world map in the back of my textbook and started pointing out countries that sounded funny and we were cracking up at the dumbest things! xD Ah, a reason I love my friends: the laughter never stops.

I’m gonna go now, thanks for reading! Sorry again for the long wait. Oh, I forgot to mention that my camping school trip is this Monday (April 19) and I’m really excited! I also get to sleep in, we have to be driven to school at 8:30. :P Oh, and also, be expecting a new CSS design pretty soon. I’m going to be busy for a week or so, so it might take a while… I guarantee it by the end of the month!
